october is national bullying prevention month
The month of October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Bullying prevention is important to each student, adult and our school community because it offers a reminder that how we interact and treat someone else can have a lasting impact on them. We want our students memories of ICS to be positive, we also want them to remember how safe they felt while attending our school.
While the month of October may be the nationally recognized time for bringing about awareness, at ICS we work on bullying prevention throughout the year. In Second Step classes we learn about empathy, compassion and self-advocacy. We also have curriculum lessons specifically designed to talk with students about bullying prevention.
If you have questions about bullying prevention at Indian Community School, please contact one of our school administrators or our social work staff. We want your child(ren) to feel welcomed and cared about each and every day. By Shelly Cornelius Roman, ICS Social Worker
