We are pleased to announce that after an extensive nationwide search, the Indian Community The School Board of Directors has selected Carrie McGhee Gleba as the next School Administrator, effective July 1, 2025.
Ms. McGhee Gleba is a long-serving member of the ICS Board of Directors, a respected educator, and a leader within the broader Native community. She is also a mother, wife, and a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. With over 20 years of experience in education, school counseling, and nonprofit leadership, she brings both professional expertise and a deep commitment to the mission and values of ICS.
The search process began in February and included input from ICS families and staff, interviews with finalists, and careful reflection by the Board. Although an initial offer was extended to another candidate, that opportunity did not move forward. Ultimately, it became clear that the leadership we were seeking was already here within our school community.
For this position, Ms. McGhee Gleba will step down from her current role on the ICS Board of Directors to transition between Board governance and school operations. We are excited to move into this next chapter together.
