K4 students took their first walk in the woods yesterday! There, they discovered Mother Earth's gifts of 2 giant puffball mushrooms and oyster mushrooms, deer bones, turkey feathers and bugs, lots of bugs! With these discoveries, K4 students made sure to put down tobacco for anything that they took. We love learning in nature! #ICSEagles (2/2)

Start the day off with some light reading! 7th grade students read Walt Whitman's poem entitled "Miracles" and learned that we can find miracles everywhere we look if we are open to the possibility and pay close attention.
Students then went on a walk around the ICS campus and journaled as they walked to create poems about the miracles they saw. #ICSEagles

Did you know September is National Fruits & Veggies Month? In Mr. Jones and Mrs. Keyser's 4th grade classes, they learned more about the 3 Sisters: Corn, Beans and Squash and how they work together to create healthy, nutritious food. The best part? This lesson was taught right in our very own garden!
Students even got to try some corn right off the stalk! How fun!
