Posoh, Katinee Shawanokasic eneq aeswihsiyan. (Hello, Katinee Shawanokasic is what I’m called).  My name means “Katherine Southern Sky” in the English language. I was born and raised on the Menominee Indian Reservation. My family comes from a traditional village called Crow Settlement and I’m a member of the Thunderer Clan.

I’m very honored to say this will be my 5th year teaching Menominee language and culture here at Indian Community School.
