Art Teacher
I have been a teacher for over twenty years. Since 2004, I have taught art at the Indian Community School. I began teaching at ICS in 1998 and joined the Art department a few years later. I am honored to be a part of our wonderful school where art making and creativity is aligned with Native culture. These past few years, I have also joined our ICS families and the Family Resource Community staff in the great outdoors via a family camp experience. One of the highlights of my summer, it brings me back to my roots working at a community center in a similar capacity. It is a joy of joys to facilitate art experiences with all ages of our ICS family.
I am a graduate of Alverno College with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education and Art Therapy. I am certified in both Art Education and Adaptive Art Education. My art studio focus was in printmaking.
Artmaking, for me, has always been focused on line and mark making.
Whether line travels gingerly around to define form or is layered and layered and layered in mysterious compositions that resemble objects of the natural world.
As always, I welcome visits from families and students of our school.
