Greetings to everyone. My name is Audra Two Thunders. I am from Peshawbestown Michigan, and I currently reside in Minowaki or Milwaukee, I am from the Golden Eagle Clan, and my tribe is the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians. I am a mother of 4 and a Nokomis to one baby girl. I attend the Medicine Lodge and am a lifelong learner/supporter of all ceremonies such as Big Durm and Long House.
My role at Indian Community School as the Our Ways Coordinator is to help support our seasonal calendar with guests who carry the traditional knowledge to connect with our students, staff, and community. I also serve on educational and cultural committees to carry on our traditional knowledge in urban areas. I hold dear the values of respect, integrity, and community service. My culture and family values have taught me the significance of honoring our ancestors and preserving who we are as Anishinaabe. Beyond the classroom, I am deeply committed to supporting my community through various initiatives. Whether organizing cultural events, volunteering at local organizations, or mentoring young people, I aim to strengthen community ties and promote a sense of belonging. I aim to inspire others to embrace their cultural identities while working collaboratively towards a brighter future for all.
