Shelly Cornelius
Social Worker
As one of our school’s Social Workers, I work closely with our students, staff, and families to provide a safe and supportive educational environment. I want each of our students to believe they have access to the tools and support they need to meet their educational goals.
Components of my work that I enjoy include seeing the students as they enter the building in the morning, attending ceremony and cultural teachings together with our students, and extending my work to parents and community members so they understand they are an essential part of the learning that takes place at ICS.
I am an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin. I continue to learn about my culture and language and appreciate each opportunity to continue my learning. I have worked in the social work field with children and families for the past twenty-seven years and I am currently in my eighteenth year at ICS. Family life for me includes my husband, our adult children and their families, and my mom, who lives with us. Two of our four children are ICS alumni who benefited from the educational opportunities that ICS offers.
I am happy to be a part of our school community and look forward to working with our students and families.
