Positive Indian Parenting

The Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) program is a free program designed to help parents learn about traditional parenting teachings and how to practice them.

Each session includes information about traditional practices, teachings, and how they can be used in parenting children. You’ll also learn about positive and satisfying attitudes, values, and skills that have roots in our Native cultures. All ICS parents, guardians, and caregivers of Indian Community School students are eligible for this 9-week program.

Some examples of what is covered:
• Lessons of the Storyteller
• Traditional Parenting
• Lessons of Mother Earth and more!

The PIP program is facilitated by the Our Ways staff and Family Resource Center (FRC) staff. Program materials were developed by the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA). For more information on NICWA, please visit their website at www.nicwa.org.
