Jodi Hirt
1st Grade Teacher
My name is Jodi Hirt (Miss Hirt) and I graduated from St. Norbert College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education along with a minor in Early Childhood. I went on to earn my master’s degree through Aurora University. I have also completed the 316 Reading Teacher Licensure Program through Alverno College.
I have been teaching at ICS for 20+ years. I primarily have taught first grade, but also taught second and third grade back in the day. I enjoy spending time with my fiancé (Tom), my family, and my friends, exploring the out-of-doors, and learning new things from the students with whom I spend each school day.
Our Black Labrador Retriever, KOKO, keeps me on my toes with all his puppy energy even though he is now considered a senior! Strawberries are a favorite of mine since our classroom is referred to as the Strawberry Room; one of the important native medicines.
