FOOD SERVICE WORKER

SUMMARY:  ICS has a full time Food Service vacancy available for the current school year and future school years if mutually agreeable. Full-time individuals work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Food Service staff generally work from late August to mid-June.

Food Service Workers serve portioned meals for the School Lunch Program.  Other duties include detail cleaning of dining and kitchen areas, washing dishes, assisting in storing/stocking grocery items, and light food preparation for special events. Candidates must be able to lift twenty-five pounds repetitively, have a positive attitude and enjoy working with kids!

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and previous experience preferred.  Must have a commitment to the ICS mission of providing each child the best educational opportunities in order to achieve their greatest personal and community potential.

SAFETY MONITOR – Part-time, 2nd Shift

SUMMARY:  ICS is seeking a part-time Safety Monitor for 2nd Shift which is 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hours may vary during summer and School breaks. This position ensures safe use of building and grounds by students, staff and visitors and safeguards school property against damage and theft.

Duties include assisting with daily school bus loading and departures, assisting in monitoring the front entrance, greeting and tracking visitors, answering phones and ensuring children are properly picked up and signed out.  Supervises students returned by the bus company.  Duties also include touring and inspecting buildings and grounds personally and via security cameras to ensure building is secure, risks are avoided, irregularities are corrected and equipment and facilities are functioning properly.  Enforces the School’s rules of conduct including student behavior, trespassing, smoking or carrying forbidden articles.  Records observations, logs data and events, sounds alarm and notifies appropriate staff and authorities as necessary, dependent on situations and incidents.

Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  Previous security experience, CPR AND AED training highly preferred.

ON-CALL FACILITIES MONITOR

SUMMARY:  ICS is seeking an On-Call Facilities Monitor for evening and/or weekend work (Evening hours are 2:30 to 11:00). This position monitors visitors, students, staff and school property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.The position includes daily oversight of school bus loading and departures, monitoring the front entrance, greeting and tracking visitors, answering phones, monitoring security cameras, ensuring children are properly picked up and signed out, and patrolling/inspecting building and grounds. Performs BBP cleanups. Operates auto-scrubber, extractors, scrubbers and other housekeeping equipment.Position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous security experience, CPR AND AED training preferred.This is an on-call position working 2nd shift and/or on weekends as needed to fill in for absences, illness, and additional workload.

CLEANER: FULL-TIME, SECOND SHIFT  

SUMMARY:  The School has a year-round vacancy for a full-time second-shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) Cleaner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
The Cleaner will complete all assigned work including general cleaning of offices, classrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, etc. Duties include trash collection, dusting, sweeping, mopping, machine scrubbing, buffing, vacuuming floors, carpets and upholstery; washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, sills and windows; cleaning bathrooms, and other general cleaning assignments.  Position will also assist with set-up of tables and chairs for events and replenishing bathroom supplies.

 LUNCH/RECESS SUPERVISORS  

SUMMARY:  We are seeking four individuals to work part time providing assistance and supervision for children during lunch and/or assigned recesses to ensure a positive, safe and harmonious environment.  These positions work school days only from mid-morning to early afternoon approximately 15 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
– Encouraging peaceful resolution of conflicts.
– Circulates throughout the cafeteria during mealtime helping students opening packages and milk cartons, cleaning up spills and additional assistance as needed.
– Assists students to and from the playground, classrooms and through the cafeteria line insuring students are orderly and acting appropriately.
– Assists in lunch room clean-up.
– Interacts with students, organizes group games and activities, and assumes responsibility for play equipment.
– Assesses playground for security and condition of equipment and reports concerns to Head of School.
– Reports discipline and other concerns to the Head of School and/or classroom teacher.
– Maintains safe environment for students at all times.
– Responds to emergency situation (injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
– Evaluates student injuries, determines course of action, performs minor first aid and completes required paperwork in compliance with School policies.
– Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately.
– Complies with applicable School, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
– Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
– Attends work regularly and is punctual.
– Participates in the school-wide student mentor program creating a community that embraces each one of its children with love, care and respect while teaching traditional values.
– Incorporates American Indian culture, language, traditions and the seven core values into daily work.

Required qualifications:   
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and at least one year related experience.  Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Works well with others from diverse backgrounds.
• Focuses on solving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; listening to others without interrupting; keeping emotions under control; remaining open to others’ ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
